Olympiakos History
CLUB HONOURS

By far the most successful team in Greek football with no less than 36 championships (including the last four) and 22 cups to their name in their homeland.

Founded in March of 1925 they are nicknamed Thrylos which means legend. this name came about after the team had won no less than six titles back in the 30's spearheaded by the five Andrianopoulos brothers. They are also one of the four teams that have never been relegated from the first division.

They play their home games at the Karaiskákis Stadium which has a capacity of just over 33,000, wearing red and white as the team colours.

At one point you didn't have to look much further than Olympiakos to find the Greek national team.

Although they have been an ever-present team in Europe They have only made it to the quarter finals of two major European Competitions. The Champions League in 1999 and the now obselete European Cup winners Cup in 1993.

Noteable players to don the Jersey are Yaya Touré now with Barcalona and Brazilian wizard Rivaldo.

They are not far from legend status again having already won seven titles in this decade alone.

For 2009 they did the double winning the Supercup by default.
